OGL Match

Bam

This was our second match on OGL for rung something, er, let me think....100? 200? ok.... I'll get back to you on that one. We had no idea what to expect against a team with a 5-0 record. We were always used to [MiD]Arcticman infiltrating and giving us the 'ho' down prior to a match.

So we pulled straws and I got the engie position in defense on Zorks first choice map BAM. Poor =WaR=QBender, he loves that position/character, but he pulled the longest straw and Offense he went! hahaha.... Whistles sounding, I built a level 3 and began jumping around as if doing that was part of the "yeah baby, I got me a LeVeL 3, hmm hmm, come on down!" I guess that's 'normal' engie behaviour, perhaps it's the grunting sound when you jump that makes you feel more animaaaal!

I see we were pulling their flag out rather quick, and then I noticed some rust on the SG. So I run outside and dropped invites to the enemy offense, they replied. A HWG and a medic... geeesh, no wonder it took a while, I began getting shot and stuff thrown at me... being of a brave nature... I DOUBLE BOOKED it back down the ramp thinking "What a dumb idea that was to leave the safety of my SG!"

There were some great moments in both basements. They had the same SG as me! a great demo and soldier, it was a solid defense, but once that disruption set in, it was hard for Zork to set back up quickly before =WaR=Kaos would come in and spoil things again. He's like that at any event, we can't take him anywhere! We began to see less and less assaults as Zork defended more heavily. It was a great effort and a fun game.

Crossover2

We had a lot of fun on this map last match, so we went with it again. Seeing how =WaR=QBender was still pretty upset about taking his role last game, I sucumbed to his questionable look of "dare, and I KILL YOU!" so, I handed the old hard hat and wrench over and the match began. This game was nothing like the first, it was fast and furious for the first 5 solid minutes! Wow! I was shouting "medic!" when I meant to set off my pipes!

Well I was preoccupied damn it! I think their medic that grabbed the flag replied something like "not now mate... I'm B U Z Y!!" There were the usual attemts at the rocket jumping, medic/scout concing, mini-supply room take offs etc we had to deal with. Every now and then I would see a stab kill from =WaR=Havoc, hmmm I thought, "hey Havoc, you are playing scout right?" "Yes Sir! Demon, sure am" then I would see another stab kill, hmmm, I thought again, "Hey Havoc, you sure you're playing a scout?" "Yes Sir! Demon, sure am sir!" Well I know lately my vision has been fading, but damn it, those were real knife kills I kept seeing, so I decided to pay my good commrade a visit and lo and behold, there he was, truely a scout! I quickly got me medication out and took a double dosage! I was seeing things! I think I nearly OD'd because I remember seeing this same scout turn ninja and pull out a hugh knife... I need to be more careful next time. :) ~

They had the flag out several times with a fast moving scout. At one point, 2 hwg dropped into the pit... wow, scared the hell out of me! But after a few emp's, mirvs, grenades and of course, a couple of crowbar hits, we did them in! woohoo...we started high fiving when the medic swoops right in and takes our flag thru the middle! We scrambled for the elevator and fought over who was going to hit the switch. Once =WaR=QBender realized his wrench was not hurting me like my crowbar was hurting him, he moved over and I hit the elevator switch. :) Once on top, we luckily managed to cut the medic off and the flag stayed in the yard for 6 minutes more. phew!

I think overall we were fortunate to have slowed their offense down long enough and keep a steady flow of caps going for us in the interim. Thank you Zork for providing the server and being great hosts. We wish you great success and Good Games!
