OGL Match

Before I start the match write up, I want to say a few words. This was a match we were all excited about, we were given the honour to play one of the oldest clans around, Mobile Infantry Division! Most of us in Team =WaR= also had the privilege of being former members of [MiD]. It’s great to see a clan like this today. Having gone through some incredible tough times in their history, they have still managed to come through with heads held high. When many teams in the past have folded, [MiD] with it’s strong leadership in Arcticman has broken all barriers and continue to support TFC and TPF! Thumbs up to this great team!
BAM
I, personally was a little concerned with what to expect from [MiD]. After all I’VE SEEN [MiD]DONJUAN’S photo! I think it was a psychological strategy they were deploying ahead of time…it worked and forced me to consider drastic actions!
I called in the best of the best Team =WaR= has to offer ... =WaR=|3ad-|3oy, nine years old and "Son of Demon … no icq" (lol that’s how Kramer used to list him) A former [MiD] member, =WaR=|3ad-|3oy already had some heads up as to what he may encounter. I have to confess something here …. I did send him on a mission to seek out and shave [MiD]DonJuan’s hair, am I bad??? lol.
The match started off quickly with both teams making it deep in each other’s base. We both managed a touch followed quickly by "both teams lost the enemy flag!" Quickly sealing off the ramp, we held the flag tight for much of the round and managed to slowly begin the push carrying [MiD]’s flag out from their base.
Great moments of play from both sides. [MiD]Fatster dropped by to say "Hi" often and left an awful lot of gifts behind. He even tried to heal me but instead made me sicker! What was that blue pill? =WaR=|3ad-|3oy, under 5 feet, managed to sneak in several times to the flag room and reporting every time he made it past an obstacle "this is |3ab-|3oy reporting in….Arctic just ran right by and didn’t see me!
I’m sneaking by DonJuan right now, his back is turned, he maybe going potty, I see the flag!" [MiD] managed to pull off a cap…very few have done that to us on this map, however it was not enough to pull off a win despite a very hard fought game. I would love to play this map again with them. It was a challenge.
2fort
Everyone’s favourite map, 2fort! I always say "When in doubt….play 2fort!" This map is like good ol’ American pie. The only thing to worry about here is defense. If it crumbles, the caps will flow.
We knew [MiD] was going to prop up DonJuan somewhere very visible and use him to scare everyone with wild screams and helicopter hairspins. We had a hunch here …. Samson was only tough because of his long hair, perhaps we thought, if we can somehow cut off his hair, the defense may crumble. It was a long shot but we were going for it. I asked for a volunteer……no one responded. Again I asked for a volunteer and again no one responded. Well I understand I maybe asking someone to go on a suicide mission here but what other choices did we have? One choice only, send out the finest! So, we all huddled behind =WaR=|3ad-|3oy and sent him out loaded with emps.
We waited anxiously 'till finally we heard the news…"|3ad-|3oy reporting in…I managed a direct hit above DonJuan’s head with an emp…his hair is on fire! I repeat…his hair is on fire!" Wooohooo we all cheered and then started our attack.
With DonJuan transferred from an old scary hippie hwg to a squealing skinhead, we knew we were going to win this match. [MiD]’s defense was now venerable and their flag was being invaded. Again their offense gave us a serious run for our money. Many times they had the flag out of the basement but never quite managed to push past that. Our defense held well in this map while the offense ran fearless from DonJuan.
