=WaR= vs. The Friendly Clan (Match for #1 OGL RANKING)

ROCK2

This was going to be the hardest match to date we felt. The Friendly Clan, also known as The Agency, was not about to hand their #1 spot to us without a fight. Rock2 isn't exactly a capping fest map. We put up a solid defense and so did they.

We touched it a few times to no avail and so did they. 0-0 seemed to be the norm of the day till finally we get a break! =WaR=Kaos managed to pull the key out and dumped it in the yard. =WaR=HavoC managed to pick it up and move it inside the gas chamber building. We were all excited on defense hoping to see them carry the key further.

No such luck, the excitement was over quickly and the norm of futile attempts set back in. I guess this is a map that OGL is thinking of removing due to scoreless ties. I can see why, but still, a scoreless game can also be fun, and this game was no different. We still enjoyed it after playing the 10 minute sudden death and still 0-0.

End of Rock2

TORCH2

This was our choice map. we have been having a hard time which maps we like best. Defense wants one map and offense wants another. We spun the glass and it landed on Torch2. Unlike Rock2, this map is a capping fest!

I have to say, the best and most unique offense I have seen to date on this map comes from [TFC]! My SG was so burned up by their pyro, I think most of the match I had to use my senses to get around, cause all I could see were flames coming out of my arse, ears and nose!

It was fast moving and action packed! The scores were close throughout the game until our offense went into overdrive and pulled off a few fast caps that gave us the win.

2MORFORT

I have to admit something here. We EXPECTED to win this game. We used the same strat we have always used and felt we would take this map easy. Boy did we under estimate [TFC]. Most of us in =WaR= have played AGT in the 9 vs 9 league when we were in [MiD]. This team has been around for a while. When they saw our defense set up...I heard echos of laughter coming from their base. They demolished poor ol' =WaR=Raptor. It was strange to constantly see him running by me every few seconds. Poor guy bareley lasted out there. I kept asking "Hey Rap ol' boy, are you running circles around the fort?" "NO!" he screams, then he runs off muttering something that sounded "I am tired of running out respawn rooms every few seconds!"

Hmmmm, I guess a TFC sniper was making his life hell! We should have figured TFC with all their experience would know how to combat each scenario they encounter. They opened our defense up wider than =WaR=Raptor's mouth in a dental chair formed a ticket line outside our flag room as they racked up their score and won this map very well. WOW! was our response!

STOWAWAY_L

Three maps played so far and we are still tied. A fourth map must now be played according to OGL rules. We picked Stowaway_l because =WaR=HavoC likes to stand on the cap point and watch medics conc back and forth. He's still trying to get his timing down on that and needs more visual help. Why not? He deserves a break....NOT!

We sent him and =WaR=Kaos into TFC's dungeons. Each time they came back empty handed and white faced. It seemed this was going to be another ROCK2. TFC had a defensive/offensive player that really put the brakes on us. It was slow on Defense and furious on offense. We let our guard down a little on defense and TFC took advantage and pulled our cap to the ramp room.

In the begining we thought they were using a one man offense. Once our flag was out, it seemed they were using a 29 man offense! Oh my! TFC's were coming in from all angles! I had to check the screen and count how many were playing on TFC's side as one after the other it seemed they were constantly in our base and determined to finish off the cap.

We held our flag for sometime outside our front door. We knew they were sending defense players to make sure they didn't allow the flag to return. This also gave us a break. =WaR=Kaos manages a pull of his own and took advantage of a weaker TFC defense as they focused on capping more than defending.

We made the first cap and they managed to cap right after. PHEW!!! we thought! Here one moment it was quite, then another moment all hell broke loose! What a racket! Now it was all quiet again. "No, please don't make us go 5 rounds on this guys!" I sighed.

As soon as the Offense heard that they knew it was either make another cap, or forever listen to Demon whinning about why we didn't cap enough. Hehehehe, I love it when they know me like that. Well hey now, I'm not that bad, I mean just because I would crowbar our offense as they ran by me, doesn't mean I don't care!

We pulled their flag out again and 50 seconds it stood there untouched till =WaR=Bad-Boy, who was on Defense couldn't handle it and shot out there to give our offense another minute. They didn't need it, it was capped right after BadBoy touched it, followed by a second cap for a final map score 10-30.

SUMMARY

Wow, what do I say winning the OGL #1 spot? I looked through the old write ups and saw what meant the most. In our first match write up I wrote, we were playing for rung something in the 3 digit range, "who cares".

I think all of us at Team =WaR= still feel that way for rung #1. WHO CARES?? Matches are not always about winning (yes it feels good to win), it's not always about being #1 (yes that feels good too.) What we enjoy the most before anything is playing great matches with great teams and great players that share the same common interests as us. I think about all those teams we have played in the past, CDF, Clanh8trs, Zork F.O.M.C, EFM, Guys n Guns, Damp Sushi..and a few more, and think of how much fun and enjoyment we received from them.

I want to take this moment to thank all the clans we have played for giving us a great time, a good match, and new friends. We take off our face masks and helmets to you and say, GOOOD GAMES AND LONG LIVE TFC!!
