History

 

Founded on December 12th 1999 as Mobile Infantry Division, tag MiD.  Team split into a Counter Strike league and a TFC league on March 21, 2001. It was on this day we signed up for the great OGL league. The TFC team was called Warriors and Renegades, tag  =WaR= and was founded and established by ScreamenDemon.

First match played was on the OGL ladder on July 21,  2001. We are still playing league clan matches today!

November 2007

We are back in STA 9v9 and dropped the UGC 5v5 ladder. Having over 600 9v9 games played so far, =WaR= is one of the oldest clans around today with over 800 5v5 and 9v9 combined games played! What will the future hold for us? Well so far, we still think TFC Classic is a fun game! TF2 is good also and Fortress Forever with it's new patch hopefully will be playable. I guess for as long as TFC clans are still competing, we will probably stay with the classic. However, doesn't mean we aren't planning a surprise TF2 team! =WaR=Recon will most likely Captain that venture for the warriors and renegades! If you are interested in joining =WaR= for TF2, send me a note and we'll tally up the interest list and go from there.

It's =WaR=Lexi's <3 birthday this month and she sent me her wish list. I would spill it out here but I don't think the 50 GiGs of web space will be enough! So, Happy Birthday from the team Lexi and hope all your frags come true!

EDIT EDIT...hear ye hear ye, I missed Googz's and Eraserman's birthday this month too! Happy birthday guys!

Last but not least, a big thanks to Player, Googz, Rocksteady for pitching in their time to help train, strategize and work with all our current members to keep them at the top of their game.

 

August 2007

We managed to recruit a Player to the team! Woot! I've always wondered who that geezer is that enters a server sporting the name "Player". I see a lot of them and I just know there's something fishy about 'em. I think they have their own  "Players"  Guild. Whatever, we snagged one and after doing the usual interrogation he finally showed us that he knows how to switch weapons and can even use mm1! Way to go Player and welcome aboard! I look forward to seeing you figure out how to switch classes in game.

We joined UGC and won the first match then won a forfeit the second week. It was discovered that BardonRedDeath flung some funky hair do and damn it seems to put fear and paralysis in other teams and makes 'em disappear. Well don't worry guys, we shaved his head and found out it was just a toupee. Hopefully next week we get to play.

=WaR=Ryan, our new Captain, has been working on his wireless connection. It sucks so bad. He was running across the bridge in 2fort then gets some major lag and next thing we know, we found him in the bathroom shooting himself in the mirror. He wasn't even carrying a weapon! Plug it in dude, it's starting to scare me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I checked my mail to see if anyone had forgotten to send me a xmas gift and still nothing! Dookie ya bastard, you are way behind on your friendship dues! At least I expected something from you! Well I guess as no one got shit from me, I can't complain. As long as we have our health and sanity, there is nothing to complain about.  :)

Summer is here and school is out! Great for my kids but I still gotta work! Everytime I make it home early enough to play we always have more than enough, so being the kind leader, I am taken advantage of and get benched! Of course whenever that happens we lose. When I don't make it home on time, I hear crying of "where were you??" pfft!  I've been left doing the dirty work when the rest of the guys have fun!  Ok ok...maybe I'm taken it too hard, as long as we keep the clan alive is my goal!

Not much going on, except we have yo yo games. Win one lose one. The team has it's streaks every week you wonder who will show to play! I guess as long as we have more than enough, I'm happy to watch and hear them cry or laugh afterwards. LOL  We have some new guys so hopefully new blood equals new results. Lets hope they are more win results!

Damn! DON'T EVER HOST YOUR SITE WITH MEGAWEBSERVER OR THEIR MULTIPLE ALIASES!! These clowns have lost our site material 9 times in 3 years and shut this site down 4 times without warning due to sever ip changes on their part. It's amazing how these idiots stay in business! The site was only partially backed up and thus this news page was lost from last January 5th. BUT HEY...we are back and are working on hosting our own site via a home pc and Speakeasy Bandwidth. For those not familiar with ISP Speakeasy.net, know that they are truly the best DSL provider on the planet! Go Speakeasy!

Other exciting news is we are still alive and very much active. Meet us in mirc channel Teamwar and see how goofy Dookie is in person. The boys recently have become soooo restless that someone thought of starting a 5 man Cstrike team and actually joined OGL! Holy smokes...I haven't fired an AK47 since Toastie lost his virginity! So based on that thesis, I should still be a crack shot! We now have a Cstrike server on the same ip as our tfc server only the port is 27017.  Server ip is 64.60.5.230.

RECON!!!  Recon is back! Although now he sports some funky looking tag NSF??? WTF is NSF???  National Security Flaw?? Come on Recon, put your =WaR= tags back on now soldier! It's great to see him back. Now the hard part is showing him how to play TFC again. Recon...I need you to make me some buy scripts for Cstrike! If only somehow we can get HavoC to come back too, he's been MIA for a while now and life just isn't the same without him! I mean we now win matches but not as fun as the ones we lose with HavoC!! Come home boy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM TEAM =WaR=!! The best of everything to all of you.

Wow, how fast 2004 went by and Dookie is still gay!  Ok maybe gay at Offense only. The best news I can deliver is that Team =WaR= is stronger today than when we first started nearly 4 years ago! We have seen many teams come and go over the years and despite the fact that TFC is not as popular as it was years ago, I think Team =WaR= has lasted primarily because we are not only a TFC clan, but a group of great internet friends. I think if TFC died tomorrow, Team =WaR= will still be around, we may not be playing TFC but I'm sure we would be playing something...maybe =WaR=Dookie's Dookie Stic, maybe =WaR=Seethers belly rolls, who knows Paintball and HL2 are looking really good! Hope TFC2 is just as good.

Currently we are in OGL 5 man having played over 100 matches (a record for OGL5) and STA 9 man league. We are always looking for a few good souls. Other exciting news, =WaR=HavoC is BACK!!! I missed that geyser so much and was hoping he wouldn't just fade away. Whether he plays tfc or not was not important, just seeing his beautiful medic face was good enough for me! Great to see you back in mirc HavoC!

TOASTIE HAS A JOB!!!  Yeah yeah I know...who in their right mind would hire him?? I guess his concing skills paid off, he now flies across desks, offices, check stands and does 2 people's work at half a person's pay! Way to figure that benefit out 'T'!  Dookie is still gay...oh I already mentioned that. =WaR=Doom is still retiring, he's been retiring now for over a year. =WaR=Marco is still hounded and harrassed by the man of his house =WaR=QueenBitch. I last heard she has him washing dishes and making him wear one of those hankis on his head with a bow on the end. Poor poor Marco, servers you right for not playing Zero Hour with me. =WaR=Praetorian is somewhere in this world. Every now and then he sits on AIM. Don't know if his girlfriend in Austria dumped his pimple face arse and made him fly to his cardboard home to East L.A.  Where are you Prae??  =WaR=Kaos still smells and there are a few other smelly geysers. =WaR=Fobos still thinks he can whoop me with his Paladin level 1 character on Diablo2 LOD   hahahahaha, dream on! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from =WaR=.

Demon finally retired hv2, moving our match server to a computer situated on his office LAN.  We've hit a four game winning streak on STA and currently hold the title once again, thanks in part to dedicated recruits such as apples and heathen.  We also passed the century mark on ogl 5v5 and are actually getting pretty close on the STA ladder.  Will we reach  it while demon still has hair?  Only time will tell.

Several points of good news to report.  First, all of our new recruits except for sp0rk are still with us.  Thanks for sticking around new guys, and thanks for not scaring them off old guys!   Also, we've had some success on STA lately... four wins in a row followed by a title defeat.  GJ

But most importantly, the latest sting operation on STA, which caught and banned 79 hackers, did not find any =WaR= members.  We frown on cheating, of course, but it's terrific to report that when an average of slightly more than one hacker was found per STA clan (including an opponent  hacking during an STA match against =WaR=)  that we had none.  Thanks for keeping the game clean.

Demon's been really busy at work lately and asked me to update the news page.  Naturally I ignored what he said, but after a few months I got to worrying... maybe he really expects me to.  So here I am, and as long as I'm doing the updating there's going to be a few changes.  First, a significant decline in use of the words "knickers", "bloke", and "governor/governess".  Secondly, we're going to be a little less... how shall we say... enamored with Schizo.  Previous updates have treaded water somewhere between the open seas of adoration and the straights of brotherly love, if you know what I'm saying.  Well, here's one updater that's not afraid to tell it like it is (and also accepts that Schizo is a married man).  So let me just say that Schizo is a competent leader and we hope you find time in the future to visit.   Finally, we're going to take a hardliner approach with havoc, prae, and recon and their extended leaves.  No more of this "please come back havoc.  I love you and miss you.  Pretty please return".  We're done with that.  So, let's get the update rolling:

Havoc, get your ass back in irc and update steam pronto.  Same for you recon.  Prae... I know austria rules but we'd like to see your e-face again too.

Moving on, the clan had roster issues for a few weeks in late June and had to leave tfl while taking some beatings in STA.  The good news though is that we picked up a couple recruits and are right back in the mix again.  Welcome to the team 3xternal, zero, Ice, Sensei Hunglo, and Sp0rk.  Hope you guys stick around awhile.  You seem like a great crowd.

The clan is indeed strong these days, but there's still a demon sized hole.  We hope everything works out and that you find time to come back and game from time to time!!

Wow, 2 months have gone by and Dookie hasn't bugged me about updating this site. I like to have a monthly update but lately I'VE BIN BIZZY! Noticed when I refresh servers now I see less than 1000 TFC servers today...my oh my...is everyone playing another game now?  Hey, try out Command and Conquer Zero hour...it's a blast! "China has big plans"

After a zillion years [TTK]Schizo has retired his team Trained To Kill. While I know many undeserving selfish clan members may not  appreciate, I hope most do understand the headache, money and time it takes to maintain a clan. Schizo is and always will be a statue of TFC. There are very very few clans that have been around as long as TTK, that have had the success of TTK and that have earned the respect from all of TFC. Having been an ex TTK member myself, I want to take this moment to thank [TTK]Schizo for years of fun and the solid friendship we have developed. Thank you for all the good times, the late night 'get togethers', the mulch whooping I gave you.....HATS OFF TO  TRAINED TO KILL!!!

We are doing too well in STA bronze that some now want us to move back up to Silver! Geez...I swear this team cannot make their minds up over nothing! I think we need to be in a Silver/Bronze ladder. We also joined TFL for some Thursday night fun too. I just hope TFL hurrys up and gets us in soon before TFC is TFC2! I keep hearing this game is over soon...did someone set a time frame when this game will finally die? Who knows, maybe next week we could be some 64 bit gamers playing Monster Doom or something on P6 Microwave broadband with a few hungred gigs of ram.

We are doing extremely well, we managed to drop from Gold to Bronze! It wasn't an easy task. It took alot of help from people like =WaR=Dookie and Norcoth and basically everyone except me of course. I was busy holding down the fort and worked for survival. Gold, Bronze or even Plastic, it's great to field 9 and have a good match. There have been many people that have come and gone over the years. (HavoC, stop teasing us and RETURN!, Kaos misses you bad he's starting to suck as soldier, I whoop him all day in mulch)

Hope everyone had a great xmas and New Year.  It's been a year of ups and downs for Team =WaR=, so we have decided to take a couple of steps back, regroup and get right back into action. Having lost several decent players it's time for us to re-evaluate where we stand. We have dropped from Gold to Silver in STA, dropped from OGL9 and TFL9 completely and are staying in CAL9. This way we get to still play top clans in Cal and middle class clans in Silver. Should be fun! I have been getting links now and then to forums such as Cata something and some stock exchange...I don't know about some of you out there, but I really have other things in my real life to do then read, respond and basically deal with what amounts to nothing but rubbish. I really don't care what silly little fool has to say about a match he had with us where all he has to say amounted to  garbage.

Hey, we won our first STA Silver match, it was a fun match against [3Q]. They never even asked for a personal demo of anyone...wooot, looks like their are still some fun clans out there!  GG guys!

Whooohooo time flies! A few changes have occurred in Team =WaR='s life. I was reading my last entry and disappointingly I have to announce that DOOM and Nerf both quit. We also had a few more quit and basically only the fun guys are left :)  We are mostly resting for xmas and new year but that doesn't mean you won't find us in one of the =WaR= servers celebrating xmas tfc style!

We have an 8 man 24/7 mulch server running on the west coast at 66.92.32.145:27015. Our main match server is 66.28.23.94:27015, if it's locked and we are in there, go to mirc #teamwar and get the pw from a member there to join in. We also have an east coast server at 128.61.58.16:27015. Don't be shy, hop in and join the fun! (there are fewer and fewer tfc servers these days)

I know I know, it's been awhile since last update. So much has happened that by the time I got around to telling everyone it ended as quick as it started! We had a few "sandbaggers" (as some retard in the TFL 4a predictor called them) join the team and as quickly as they joined, they swiftly moved on. We were left with a couple of great guys I'm excited to have on the team DOOM and Nerf, don't you guys dare think of leaving us!

=WaR= is now over 2 years old and we still have the core team that started it around. Although not all of them are as active as they used to be, it's only a matter of time before we show up at =WaR=Recon's house and find out why he only surfaces now and then and when he does he still plays so damn well that it like a big tease! COME HOME RECON!

=WaR= has moved up to TFL3 and STA gold and currently #2 in OGL9 and OGL5. We played KuQ in the OGL5 and having beat this team before, they came back with a vengeance and beat us back. Great match and great job guys. We'll get you next time!

Well it was fun while it lasted till those bastards at PCXL came and took the OGL5 title from us. Hey, if we're going to lose it, at least it took a great team to do it. WEEEE"LLLLL BEEEE BAAAAACK! Being number 2 isn't too bad on this ladder.

Just came back from a week in Maui and it was WOWEE! Everyone has got to make that trip in their lifetime. It seems when I returned the team grew larger and we now have some more new members. This of course prompted the noble Praetorian into registering the team for STA (again) and so far Team =WaR='s 9 man crew have a 9 game win streak!  woohoo! Hopefully I can play too! Work and afterwork work has been nuts lately. Problem is I've been saying that for too long, kinda like how =WaR=HavoC has been saying how he will get his cable up soon and playing. Here's to both our woes [_]3 cheers.

Although we have added a few members recently, Team =WaR= is still hunting for a few more. Monthly update I know, but news has been slow and I have been BIZZY BIZZY BIZZY. In the meantime though, Team =WaR= is now the OGL 5v5 champion, WOOOHOOOO!! We defended the title this past weekend against Dante's Inferno, a team that we lost to the last time we played them. It was a tight match because my pants were really tight and I had a hard time getting the Melvin outta my ass. Still though we managed to win in 2 games. Dante'sInferno however are a great team and unfortunately they hate us for making the match time 9pm pst and not allowing them to play round2 first (their choice map). What on earth happened to the defending teams right to choose? We were dissed for exercising our rights?  hmmmm  Despite that I still love those guys, they get me all HOT!  GG DI  and I especially love the geyser who's name is Demon :) obviously a man from my own heart!

Our 9 man team is suffering BAD! Most of our 5 man members play for other 9 man teams and thus =WaR='s 9 man is in much need of new members. If you have an RPG or a medic pac, please drop me an e-mail at screamendemon@teamwar.net if you want a tryout. Hurry, slots are filling up fast!  Ok maybe not, but hurry anyways before we drop this whole 9 man idea!

Other Exciting news, HavoC is STILL not back! BUT....hopefully he will return by August when he expects to get a pay raise above minimum wage.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!

Other news, our last 2 new recruits didn't fare out, one was an imposter of someone we sacked months ago for behaviour unbecoming of a =WaR= member, (I guess he missed us) the other, well, he was here one day and gone the next!

We recruited 2 others since then, =WaR=Norcoth, who has already enjoyed some match success with us and =WaR=Xeed who's circle of friends may be questionable, who's 56K connection for TFC is amazing who has yet to play a match after missing his first scheduled match he "forgot" about   (DOH DOH!) but yet still plays a mean round of mulch. Welcome aboard guys...stick around will you!

Team =WaR= dropped from STA due to not having enough players to play on a Monday. We have 4 members out for the Summer and a few more  MIA. We joined TFL 9 man for some Thursday action and so far, despite being short a man here and there, we have so far held on with a 2-2 record. Hey, that's a 50% win ratio!  :) See you on the battlefields!

Team =WaR= takes rung 2 on OGL!

The OGL 5v5 ladder is becoming more and more competitive. It's certainly the best 5v5 ladder out. Over 50 teams participate and =WaR= holds rung 2! Other exciting news, =WaR=Luck is back! MIA for two years, he finally made it out of the jungle and back into real life, TFC! Hailed once as a mighty soldier warrior, =WaR=Luck hopes to once again claim back his forgotten fame. WELCOME BACK!

Team =WaR= takes the IGL 5v5 Title!!!

Before saying congrats to the team for an incredible effort winning the IGL title, I should first mention that had it not been for =WaR=Praetorian's observation of utilizing the clans "cash" to pay for a title contender shot, we would not be celebrating today!

It began with an icq "Hey Demon, see how much clan cash we have accumulated in IGL??? I say we spend some and buy us a title shot contender match because the next map is Tiger, our best map, and will be the IGL map for the next 2 weeks! Demon you crazy ol' bastard, don't you see our moment of opportunity here?? We can win both weeks of Tiger and take the title FOOL! Now get your limey smelly arse and write that cheque!" (well he actually said "check" but knowing how illiterate he is I knew what he really meant.)

So, with money flying out of our account, the plan worked perfectly and the title became ours, again. :) CONGRATS TEAM =WaR= and great job =WaR=Praetorian. (not that great of a job, the bastard went snowboarding and never played!)



OGL 5v5 Match for the #1 spot!

Stay tuned for this upcoming match tomorrow 3/14/03 at 6pm pst. We play X a second time after we had to lick our wounds the first match that went 3 games. This time we feel we are better prepared and hopefull of a win, which would give Team =WaR= two ladder titles! Maps to be played will be Openfire_l, Tiger and mulch_faf. TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AT Clanh8rs

I am at a loss for words here. Clanh8rs have decided to retire. I say this to you. You not only are a great team, but also a great bunch of blokes. We love you guys! It hurts alot to see a team like yours retire. The time and relationships created hopefully will still remain worthwhile for a long time. We at Team =WaR= will miss the name we have become so accustomed to and associated with fun matches, great sportmanship and the utmost of respect for. You have made history of your own and within the TFC community and your accomplishments I'm sure are the envy of many.

We seem to be on a MAJOR losing streak lately. The temporary loss of 2 key members, permanent loss of 2 others, coupled with bad timings where real life issues prevented some from playing, etc etc etc hasn't helped us. The good news is things can't get any worse! :) I'm sure we aren't the only ones to have experienced troubles and our thoughts are, things will only get better!

We play PCXL tonight for the #2 slot on OGL 5vs5. This is by far the most competitive ladder going today with some exceptionally talented teams. Congrats to OGL for their success in their 2v2 and 5v5 TFC ladders! Also, to PCXL, GOOD LUCK and GOOD GAME tonight! (ps GLOBE....you're dead meat pal! hehe)

Welcome =WaR=OMGITSATALKINGSUASAGE to Team =WaR=! Our newest member who brings with him mucho skills and a great fun attitude! We love this guy! Looking forward to many fun matches and lots of insults at you in the "What we should have done tonight" forum. Welcome Aboard.

Slowly but surely, the site is slowly coming back! We have a new host and hopefully we will finally get Coranto working again and the site can once again be updated regularly.

Tonight we play our IGL match for the title shot and Tiger is the map for the next two weeks. This is one of our strongest maps and thus we are all excited about a great opportunity we have for the title. Good luck Team =WaR=!
